Pre-outlands, espially if you are a shadow priest, you'll gear fairly similarly. After that, you'll start to diverge. Then at 70, the gearhoes will bome even more distit. If you're holy, there will be less overlap overall and none at all at "endgame" (defined here as anything you do after--ding! 70).

I don't think its the mage in you. In general healing is just a rather thankless task in BGs. Everyone loves to get heals but nobody wants to help prott you so it really takes a mother goose personality toontinue healing. I don't really blame any shadow priests forhoosing not to heal in BGs, but I still stand by my point that a priest is more important as a healer than a DPSer in BGs.

Instaes, HolyDi is best, but at higher levels you're damage will be rather low for solo'ing, where PISoL DiHoly is a good idea. 2an anyone give me a link? While soloing up up about level 50, try and keep your health:mana ratio at about 2:3. If you've got 2000 health, have about 3000 mana. That seems to be a good balae. For healing, intellt and spirit. outsidde ths instae, they are like2009-06-02My meaning of not healing is those outsidde ths instae, they are like everyone down there farming their own quests and money and everything else. E.g. My dwarven priest was heading to sentinel hill to turn in a quest and saw a warrior fighting a goretusk. I just walked by and did not fort or heal him. A few minutes later, someone is looking for a healer for an instae grp and i replied to him using the generalhat. A few ss later, the warrior spoke in the general and olded me badly and i was kked almost instantly. I was denied like that. I admit i might might not be perft in healing but definitely able to lsat and learn in the lvl 10-20s dungeons. Btw, is it really a must for priest to heal non-party members along the way? maybe to turn in a quest or repair items?

I was holy but soloing was just2009-06-02I'm enjoying my lvl 45 di priest. I was holy but soloing was just too damned hard. The spirit buff helps keep manaharged and the refltive shield adds to damange. In 5 mans, shileding the tank is helpful sie it kks out damage and saves on the healing. I'll probably swih bk to holy around 70 but I'm stking with Di until then. Mh easier to PvE than but is more defense based so Shadow is still the better option. Everyone is shadow so I wanted to be different.
I'd avoid shielding tanks in PuG's at low levels. It does hurt aggro generation (no rage and therefore threat generation) and it's not very mana-effient, whhan be aoern if your group isn't very good.

be able to answer your shadow aggro2009-06-02Well, I'm holydi, so i won't be able to answer your shadow aggro questions, altho i will say that even healing aggro in higher instaes makes having a dent tank that takesare of their healer a nessity. As for wanting shadow priests in groups, i do see that request out there fairly frequently, more frequently now that horde has paladin healers. I haven't instaed with many shadow priests sie Tame out, but am slowly learning to appriate them.
